This Is Why 72% Of People Get Their Best Ideas While In The Shower

Some people may see taking a shower as a daily necessity, to get rid of the dirt on your body and get clean again. Some people may also see taking a shower as a time to relax and get some peace and quiet. Now, there is also proof that in the shower is where our inner-genius can come out the most.

Yes, science is backing up the notion that we really do get our best ideas in the shower. As a matter of fact, a study now suggests that this really happens to up to 72 percent of people.

Let’s be honest, we’ve all done some deep thinking in the shower. Whether we’re contemplating about our to-do list for the day, coming up with that million-dollar invention, or pondering the true meaning of life, an activity as mundane as showering can allow our creative juices to kick in more than usual. But why?

Perhaps it has something to do with your shower being a relaxing, non-judgmental environment. This may “afford creative thinking by allowing the mind to wander freely, causing people to be more open to their inner stream of consciousness and daydreams,” according to psychologist Scott Barry Kaufman, Ph.D.

Additionally, washing your hair or rinsing off your body in the shower doesn’t take up a lot of focus in your brain, allowing your mind to wander that much more.

Engaging in activities that make you feel more relaxed, such as showering, can also release extra doses of dopamine in your brain, which can spark your creative thought-process.

With that, we suggest writing down all your shower thoughts before you forget them.

Yes, there is such thing as a shower whiteboard. It’s mountable, waterproof and also comes with a 50-page notepad in case you want the ideas on paper instead of a dry erase board.

Maybe somebody thought of the idea to make a shower whiteboard while in the shower.
