Bobbing For Candy Canes Is The New Holiday ‘It’ Game

Are you looking for a fun game to play with your family this Christmas? If so, look no further than this holiday trend that’s starting to really heat up: Bobbing for candy canes!

Not sure what I mean? Well, check out this video right here to see it in action:

As you can see, this game has all the components of a perfect party game. First of all, it’s cheap (who doesn’t already have candy canes on hand during the holiday season?) and second of all, it’s easy to understand and accessible for all ages. So whether you are hosting a party for your child’s friends from school or you have a group of your college buddies over for some drinks, this is a game that can work for every skill level (and every sobriety level!).

How To Play

Want to give it a try? One Facebook use shared a very important tip: Keep the candy canes wrapped. This way you can reuse them, and you don’t have to worry about swapping germs.

Each “bobber” holds a candy cane in their mouth, with the curved end out. Place the rest of the candy canes on a table, then set a timer and see who can “hook” the most canes in the specified amount of time. You can play one at a time or two at a time if your space allows.

If you are interested in playing the game with your friends, family or coworkers, make it interesting by offering a small prize for the winner. Think a gift card to Starbucks, a gift certificate to the movies, or a plush doll for the kiddos.

You can even make the game more difficult by using mini candy canes, if you really want to make your guests earn their eggnog. Who else is excited to make bobbing for canes a new holiday tradition in their house?
