Burger King Is Launching Ultimate Snack Hybrid Mac ‘N Cheetos, For Better Or For Worse

Macaroni and cheese isn’t exactly a portable snack option, but you know what is a portable snack? A bag of Cheetos. So, naturally those two are combining to become one cheesy, crispy meal of deep-fried mac ‘n cheese with a Cheetos-dusted crust that you can eat on the go.

Burger King is launching the combo—which they’re calling Mac ‘n Cheetos, of course—on June 27. But, according to The Verge, they’re only going to be available at select Burger King locations in Southern California for the time being.

Is this latest menu item a genius idea or a catastrophe? I’ll let you be the judge of that, but mainly because I haven’t decided how I feel about this.

I mean, at what point in your life are you going to need to reach for these? Have you had a bad day at work? Or are you just obsessed with both mac ‘n cheese and Cheetos, so you’d prefer to eat them at the same time?

Either way, I’m convinced that this is the most insane fast food-related idea I’ve heard. Even more so than the Doritos Locos Tacos.

According to Business Insider, these will retail for $2.49 for a five-piece order.  So, if this excites you—you don’t have to wait much longer (or shell out a whole lot) to make this your new favorite thing to snack on, at least if you live in California.

Because just imagine how cheesy, yet crunchy these are going to be. On the one hand, they kind of sound amazing. On the other hand, I just keep thinking, what have we come to, America?
