‘Dirty Dancing’ Is Coming Back To Theaters!
Nobody puts baby in a corner! And you know exactly what I’m talking about. I can’t think of a single person who hasn’t seen (and absolutely fallen in love with) “Dirty Dancing.”
Not that you were looking to feel old today, but this film is turning 30 years old very soon (sorry to be the bearer of bad news!), and there’s going to be something very special to celebrate.
Hello Giggles points out that pretty much the best film ever made will screen in theaters again to commemorate its 30th anniversary. So, if you’re not already getting your dancing shoes on in preparation, then who even are you?
Thankfully, the publication points out that you can already buy tickets to the event. But, before you go and get too excited, let me fill you in on the details.
The movie will play on Jan. 29 and Feb. 1 in select theaters across the nation, according to the Fathom Events website. Shows will take place at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. local time on both days.
The film will screen as it originally did back in 1987. Whether you’re reliving your glory days or getting to see this film in theaters for the first time ever, there’s no way you’ll want to miss out on seeing Jennifer Grey and Patrick Swayze fall in love with dancing, each other and a sense of independence. Ahh, isn’t that what summer love is all about?
In a press release, Fathom Events Vice President of Studio Relations Tom Lucas explains what makes the film so amazing:
“’Dirty Dancing’ is one of those really rare films that feels just as fresh and fun as it did the first time you saw it,” he said. “As an Eighties classic set in the Sixties, it’s a double-dose of cinematic nostalgia and we couldn’t be more delighted to welcome Baby and Johnny back to the silver screen.”
Couldn’t have said it better myself. This is bound to be an incredible event, so go ahead and secure your tickets now!
