Move over, cupcake towers. There’s a delicious new wedding dessert trend in town.

This delightful dessert display won’t break your budget, and is a fun DIY project you can actually tackle. Doughnuts have officially entered the wedding scene, and they’re being displayed on “doughnut walls.”

Rather than serving your guests just one cake, you can offer a number of doughnut flavors with various frostings and toppings. Stack the doughnuts on pegs, and the result is a lovely and mouth-watering display:

You can make this delicious dessert even more creative by getting your guests involved. Have guests take doughnuts off the wall and add their own toppings, from chocolate frosting to sprinkles. Make sure to keep a disposable camera nearby so everyone can snap photos of their creations before they get eaten.

No wedding plans in your future? A doughnut wall would also be great for children’s birthday parties, fundraisers, engagement parties, bridal or baby showers, or graduation parties.

Looking to create your own DIY doughnut wall? Try these instructions from the blog Oh Happy Day. All you need is pegboard, dowels (we’d suggest saving time and getting them cut at the hardware/lumber store) and some paint. Then, of course, you just add doughnuts!

Do we love this trend? Yes, we do!
