A Flower-Shaped Marshmallow That Blooms In Your Mug Is Here For The Best Hot Cocoa Ever

Hot chocolate is always amazing. Not only is it delicious, it’s also a delicious reprieve from cooler winter weather. So, all in all, it gets a 10 out of 10 as far as seasonal beverages go. But, if you’re ready to take that cup of cocoa to the next level—no, dare I say it, a 12 out of 10—then you need these marshmallows in your life.

We have Chef Dominique Ansel, inventor of the cronut (have mercy!), to thank for these beautiful flower marshmallows that literally bloom before your eyes when added to hot chocolate.

You see, the bud-shaped marshmallow is held by a thin ring of white chocolate, and once it’s placed into your piping hot mug, the chocolate melts and a marshmallow “blooms” right inside of your cup.

If you’re one of those people who likes to fill your mug with marshmallows, almost to the point of not being able to see the cocoa inside, then this is definitely the treat for you.

Photos prove that when this marshmallow fully expands, it’s all you can see in the top of your mug. Brim to brim of marshmallow-y goodness. Plus, you’ll get the added bonus of a hint of white chocolate flavor in your cocoa. Nothing wrong with that!

Now, before you go and get too excited, I have to tell you a bit of bad news. These treats are currently only available at Dominique Ansel Bakery locations in New York, Tokyo and London.

If you don’t live near any of these locations, well, I can’t think of a better reason to go. Scour the globe for a brilliant cup of cocoa? Worth it!
