Janet Jackson Welcomes Baby Boy At Age 50

Baby news! Janet Jackson has just welcomed her first child, a bouncing baby boy. Jackson and husband, Wissam Al Mana, are over the moon for their son, whom they named Eissa. It is an Hebrew name meaning “Yahweh is Salvation.” (Yahweh means God in Hebrew.)

Wondering how to pronounce this beautiful name? Pretty simple. It’s “eee-sa” (with a long e). The name is rare (not in the top 1,000 names of baby names in the United States), but for its rarity, there is something very simple and classic about the moniker.

Jackson’s husband, Al Mana, is a practicing Muslim, and Jackson converted to his religion as well. No doubt her faith helped to bring her comfort and guidance during her pregnancy, which was quite miraculous. Jackson became pregnancy just shy of her 50th birthday, which is quite an anomaly even in this modern day and age. However, Jackson enjoyed a healthy pregnancy and an safe delivery.

It is the first child for Jackson and her husband. The pair wed in 2012 in a quiet ceremony with no fuss or media presence. Jackson was previously married twice before (to singer James DeBarge and director Rene Elizonda Jr.) and she famously dated Jermanie Dupri for seven years.

However, when she met Al Mana in Dubai in April 2010, they quickly fell in love and became inseparable. Her single “No Sleeep” dropped in 2015 (her first release in 7 years) and she dedicated it to Al Mana, calling him “her love.”

Listen to the sultry jam here:

Jackson postponed her tour in April of last year because she was “planning her family.” Although fans were disappointed about the cancellation, they were happy for the talented star… but perhaps now that Eissa is earth-side, we will soon be seeing another tour in the works!

Of course, let’s give Mom some time… after all, “No Sleeep” is certainly going to be her life for the next few months!
