This Duo Is Set To Sing The “Beauty and the Beast” Theme Song And We Are So Excited
As an avid Disney fan, and longtime “Beauty and the Beast” fan, my anticipation for the new live-action “Beauty and the Beast” builds with each new announcement about the film.
And this announcement is one we have all been waiting for! Who will sing the the classic “Beauty and the Beast” theme song?
After all, this song is a big deal! It is the moment Belle and the Beast truly fall in love. In case you somehow forgot how magical this song is, take a look at the clip from the original animated movie below.
The original version of this song, written by Alan Mencken and Howard Ashman, and made famous by Celine Dion and Peabo Bryson, won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe AND a Grammy Award in 1991. (No pressure!)
So now that you are officially once again obsessed with this song, it’s time to reveal who will take on the ballad in the upcoming live-action adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast.” Skepticism stemmed after Ariana posted a photo on her Instagram of her in the recording studio with a simple rose as the caption, but we’re excited to hear her version wit her unique voice.

Since then, Oh My Disney has confirmed that the duet for the new live-action film, which comes out on March 17, will be recorded by none other than Ariana Grande and John Legend! The two power houses have incredible voices, and I do think Grande and Legend will do the song justice (and then some!).
However, I can’t help but wish the beloved Mrs. Potts, Angela Lansbury, would be singing the iconic song in the film. There’s something nostalgic about the voice of Angela Lansbury singing Disney’s most iconic love song. Here’s Lansbury, now 91, singing the song at the 25th special anniversary screening back in September, and it brings back all the feels!
Grande and Legend have some big shoes to fill in singing one of the most timeless tracks ever! Do you think they are up for the challenge?
The “Beauty and the Beast” soundtrack will be released March 10 in advance of the film’s premiere.
