Learn How To Make This Mouth-Watering Rainbow Chocolate Cake

If a unicorn could make a cake, it would look something like this.

Vanessa Anderson of New Castle, Australia and her husband, Jon, are the founders of Cake Style, a website where the couple posts blogs, cake photos, video tutorials and more.

As a professional cake decorator, Anderson did what any baker would do on her birthday – make a cake. Only this cake was a rainbow and chocolate masterpiece filled with icing, gum balls, sprinkles and more.

Luckily for us, she posted a video on her YouTube channel giving detailed step-by-step instructions on how to make this delicious creation.

Step #1: Icing Walls

The outside of the cake is made up of icing walls which she has made by melting white chocolate and dying it with various shades of food coloring. She then puts the multiple colors of chocolate in rectangular icing trays, swirls them with a toothpick, adds sprinkles and refrigerates.

Step #2: Layering and Ganache

Anderson had previously made four layers of cake, but in this video she stacks them together and fills a coat of ganache in between each layer and around the outside and top. She then chills the cake in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.

Step #3: Add Decorations

After the cake and icing have both been chilled, she uses some of her leftover melted chocolate as glue to put the icing walls on the cake.

The last part of decorating is putting various candy decorations on top of the cake. (She uses sugar-coated chocolate balls, sugar pearls and sprinkles.)

And voila, you’re done! Doesn’t that look amazing? Make it now or pin it for later.
