We Are Loving These Miniature Dioramas Set In Ring Boxes
You remember dioramas, right? Little scenes set in a box, or maybe even inside a hollow Easter egg. You probably made one in a shoebox at school at some point during your childhood.
Am I bringing back fond memories? Then you have to check out the work of Canadian-Trinidadian artist Talwst (real name Curtis Santiago), who makes tiny dioramas set in ring boxes. Check out some of his work below. (BTW, “Talwst” is pronounced “tall waist.” Just so you know.)
“Uh-Huh, Honey”
Talwst’s designs are inspired by pop culture and everyday events. That’s Kim and Kanye, in case you were wondering.
“Errbody Loves McDonalds”
“Frolic”
“The Ballad of Iron Mike”
This one is a portrait of boxer Mike Tyson.
Talwst gets the old ring boxes from fans, antique or junk stores, and online.
