Multiple Needle Pricks May Soon Be A Thing of The Past
Donating blood is a great thing, but it comes with those horrible needle pricks. And what about the times when the first needle prick misses the vein? The worst.
Thanks to a new invention by Christie Medical Holding, called the VeinViewer, those mistakes may soon end. The Vein Viewer uses light to precisely show where the veins are located.
What’s even cooler is that the device projects the veins right on the person’s skin, so a doctor or nurse can see exactly where a needle needs to go. The secret sauce is a special type of light that that is absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood and is reflected back by the skin.
