The Spiciest Chip In The World Is So Hot—You Can Only Buy One At A Time

When it comes to chips, the sentiment is typically “you can never have just one.” But, in this case, you can only have one. In fact, it’s packaged so that you don’t have a choice.

That’s right. Paqui chips has invented what they say is the spiciest chip ever, and they only serve the chip one at a time. Because when it comes to spicy tortilla chips, it’s about quality over quantity.

“It’s the hottest chip you’ll ever have, I can guarantee you that,” the chef, Ed Currie, told Mashable. “After you eat that one chip, trust me, you’re not looking to dig back into the bag and have a second one. So, one chip is what we created to have the experience.”

The design of the packaging is definitely part of the experience. I mean, this chip is served in a box shaped like a coffin — which should give you a hint as to what you’re about to get yourself into! It’s appropriately called “The Reaper,” and it warns you to “Fear The Reaper.” Yikes!

Apparently, the tortilla chip was created using the Carolina Reaper Pepper. This is the pepper known as the hottest chili pepper on Earth. So, when it comes to spiciness, this chip is no joke. According to Mental Floss, one package (aka, one chip) retails for $4.99.

If you’re up for the challenge of eating just one of this spicy snack food, then you’re going to want to have some yogurt, milk or honey on hand to help you handle the heat.

Here’s one brave soul who tried the chip, and as you can see in the video below, he’s definitely reaching for his milk as soon as he eats the chip!
