Spruce Up Your Drinks This Summer With These Flavors

All I want for the summer is everything on ice. I’m talking iced tea, ice-cold water, lemonade and iced coffee. None of that hot stuff for me! Don’t keep drinking the same old boring drinks all season long, though. Give your drinks a little boost! A great way to add a little extra something to those beloved iced beverages is through, well, the ice, of course!

Adding fruit and spices is a great way to infuse some added flavor. It’s really very simple: add your fruit, spices, etc. to an ice tray, fill with water and allow time to freeze to have easily infused iced tea, water and lemonade. And to infuse your iced coffee with flavor, place spices or things like chocolate shavings into an ice tray and add brewed coffee that’s had a few minutes to cool. Then, a few hours later, you’ve got coffee ice cubes that can melt into a glass of milk for perfectly flavored iced coffee.

If you’re looking to pack some tastiness into the way you hydrate during the hotter months, check out these suggestions for making the most yummy ice cubes to cool down your summertime drinks.

For Water/Lemonade:

I’d always choose to add fresh ingredients into water or lemonade. Add fruits like pineapples and strawberries if you’re looking for a sweet, bold flavor. Add cucumbers for a light and refreshing choice! If that’s not original enough for you, try adding some things like basil and rosemary to that ice tray, too. Pineapple basil lemonade? Don’t mind if I do!

For Tea:

Of course, nothing goes with tea like lemon, but you can also add peaches and raspberries to your glass for a yummy treat. If you’re looking for something a little more unique try adding some almond extract or lavender to your ice cubes, too. You certainly can’t go wrong with any of those options add a little extra goodness to your tea!

Coffee:

When making your coffee ice cubes try adding in some vanilla beans, cinnamon or chocolate shavings for a little surprise for your palette in your next chilled glass of coffee. Then, pour your coffee in, freeze and enjoy! Mmm. That sounds so good I think I’m craving a little coffee now, what about you?

Never knew your summer drinks could be so tasty, huh? Be sure to try out these infusions the next time you want something cold and delicious!
