Target Recalls More Than 120,000 Halloween Decorations

Before putting up Halloween decorations, make sure you’re not putting up the wrong ones.

Target recently issued a recall for about 127,000 Halloween-themed decorations. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), certain LED gel window decorations have been recalled because kids can choke on them.

The LED gel clings could break apart easily, which reveals “the inner decal and LED/button battery compartment.” The compartment is small enough for a child to accidentally swallow.

The product came with two batteries and was made in six varieties: black bat, black cat, orange pumpkin, purple spider, pink skeleton and green skeleton. Each LED gel cling produces a blinking light that can be turned on and off when pushed.

No injuries have been reported yet, but Target is still advising all customers to immediately remove the decor. Each gel cling was sold for $1 between the months of August and September. Also, every gel cling has the product number 234-25-0904.

If you bought one of these LED gel clings, you can either visit any Target store or submit online to receive your full refund. Here are the ways you can receive your refund, according to the CPSC:

• Call Target at 800-440-0680 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CT Monday through Sunday
• Visit their website at www.Target.com and click on “School/Stationery/Seasonal” on the product recalls page
• Check the “Product Recalls” tab on Target’s Facebook page.

As the product packaging advises, since there is a battery within this product, it’s best to recycle the product as hazardous waste.
