Volunteers Are Painting Parking Spaces Purple To Honor Purple Heart Recipients

When you’re out an about running errands, if you happen to notice purple parking spots, please be aware these are reserved for wounded veterans that have received Purple Hearts.

The Wounded Warriors Family Support is an organization working to designate parking spaces for service members that have been injured while serving our country.

“There are an estimated 1.8 million Purple Heart recipients, combat wounded service members who have transitioned back into civilian life,” the group told Fox News.

It’s a movement that they are hoping will spread across the US. Want to get involved? The WWFS is giving the purple parking signs for free to any organization that wants to recognize, aid and honor those that have served.
