This Is What The Extra Shoelace Hole On Your Shoes Is For

YouTube | Illumiseen

As a runner with feet problems, I’ve known about this nifty little idea for a while. But when talking to a friend recently, they admitted they didn’t know what the little extra hole on their gym shoe was for.

It’s to create a “heel lock.” If you get blisters on the heels of your feet, or if your feet move around in your shoe, you might want to try this method of tying your shoe.

The extra hole is used to create a loop with your laces so they cinch and lock into place. This will then help keep your foot secured in its spot. Watch the short video to see how to do it.

The more you know.
