The 10 most attractive men in the world, according to science

They say beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but plastic surgeon Dr. Julian De Silva disagrees. Using a combination of ancient theory and contemporary science, De Silva has come up with a list of 10 men who are objectively the most handsome alive.

Forget personal preference. According to De Silva, it all comes down to the Greek Golden Ratio of Beauty Phi. Huh?

Harper’s Bazaar breaks it down: “The system works by taking the average of 12 key markers over the whole face including lips, nose, eyes, eyebrows, chin, forehead and facial shape. The results are then compared against the Greek Golden Ratio of 1.618, which is considered the height of beauty.”

According to this standard, here are the 10 most handsome men walking the Earth:

1. George Clooney

Long considered a Hollywood heartthrob, this one’s not a big surprise. In fact, Clooney was named People’s Sexiest Man Alive not once, but twice.

Clooney and his stunning, super-smart wife, Amal, became parents to twins, Ella and Alexander in June.

2. Bradley Cooper

Those eyes. That smile. It’s not hard to see why Cooper makes the cut.

Like Clooney, Cooper also recently became a father. He and his fiancee, model Irina Shayk, welcomed a baby girl, Lea De Seine, in the spring.

3. Brad Pitt

This guy’s like a fine wine. He only seems to get better with age. At 53, Pitt is still one of the hottest actors in Tinseltown.

He and Angelina Jolie, who have six children together, famously split in 2016.

4. Harry Styles

Representing the Millennials, this British singer is as smoldering as he is talented.

The 23-year-old recently made his big screen acting debut in the film “Dunkirk,” which premiered in July.

5. David Beckham

You can add another Brit to the list with soccer star Beckham. We’re not jealous of his wife, Victoria, at all.

By the way, did you realize that the Beckhams have been married for nearly 20 years? Time really does fly.

Rapper, actor, producer — now Smith can add “among the most handsome men in the world” to his list of accomplishments. (Well, right there alongside, one of “Carpool Karaoke”‘s most impressive guests—the episode he starred in included a marching band and helicopters, so needless to say, it was memorable!)
