2017 Is Going To Be A Big Year For Harry Potter Fans
Harry Potter fans may find this hard to believe, but June 26, 2017 will mark 20 years since the first novel was published! (Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, the U.K. version; the U.S. version, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, arrived in 1998.)
To celebrate two decades Of Dumbledore, U.K. publisher Bloomsbury will publish, on that date, four new special editions of The Philosopher’s Stone, (one for each house at Hogwarts) and each will have the house colors and crests of Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and Slytherin. This info coming from author J.K. Rowling’s site, Pottermore.
And there’s more! On October 20, 2017, the British Library will feature a big Harry Potter exhibition. Jamie Andrews, Head of Culture and Learning at the British Library, said: “We at the British Library are thrilled to be working with J.K. Rowling and with Bloomsbury to mark the twentieth anniversary of Harry Potter, and to inspire fans with the magic of our own British Library collections.”
Tickets will go on sale in the spring of 2017 here, and the exhibition will run through February 28, 2018, so you best start planning your trip to London now!
