Some people love the mornings and easily pop right out of bed, ready to conquer the day. For most of us though, mornings are a very challenging time. That crankiness can carry forward throughout the day. Don’t let it!
To make sure you have a great day, it’s important to start in with positive mindset. Studies show that if you can start your day on a positive note, that positivity will stay with you throughout the day.

1. Personal Reflection
Spend a few minutes before you get out of bed identifying some things you are thankful for and think about things you accomplished the day before. Doing this will help create a positive mindset and get your in that positive mood.
2. Pamper Yourself
Don’t just wake up and rush out the door as quickly as possible. Spend a little time pampering yourself. Make a nice coffee and read the paper or watch your favorite morning show in peace. The key is to indulge a little and by doing so, you will come to enjoy the mornings.
3. Let The Sunshine In
Instead of blocking out the sun, keep your blinds open and the light will help wake you up naturally. It was also provide some energy and help motivate you.
4. Lay Out Today’s Goals
Having goals helps develop a sense of focus and as you mark goals off the list, you feel a sense of accomplishment. That sense of accomplishment will in turn boost your happiness level!
5. Get Organized
Once you have your goals identified, it’s now time to organize your day. Get mentally prepared by jotting a list down of everything you have racing through your mind. This process helps calm the mind and alleviate the pressure and weight of all the things you need to accomplish.
6. Share The Love
Pay it forward… send a message or make a phone call to a friend, family member, or co-worker to make them happy. Studies show that by making someone else happy, you in turn will feed off of that and feel better about yourself.

Having something fun to look forward at the end of the day is the best. It can be something little or big. Plan to meet up with a friend for a drink or schedule an activity you love. Research shows that anticipation for an event your enjoy can provide as much happiness as the event itself.
