If you’ve been missing television show “Breaking Bad” since it ended in 2013 — get ready for some amazing news. According to the Albuquerque Journal, a movie about everyone’s favorite chemistry professor-turned-meth maker may be in the works!

The movie, currently titled “Greenbrier,” will begin production in New Mexico — where the show was also set — in mid-November and continue through early February. While the New Mexico Film Office will not confirm or deny that “Greenbrier” is connected to “Breaking Bad”, a source told the Albuquerque Journal that it is indeed connected to the beloved AMC show.

According to the Albuquerque Film Office, “Greenbrier” tracks the escape of a kidnapped man and his quest for freedom. Other than that, details are pretty limited so far, but multiple sources say “Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan is involved with the project. Cosmopolitan reports that Gilligan is writing the script, executive producing and potentially directing the film. “Breaking Bad” executive producers Mark Johnson and Melissa Bernstein are also said to be involved.

If you’re unfamiliar with the series, it’s the story of a high school chemistry teacher — Walter White, played by Bryan Cranston — who is diagnosed with advanced cancer. In the hope of helping his family financially before he dies, he begins producing and selling methamphetamine with a former student, Jesse Pinkman, played by Aaron Paul.

There’s no word yet on which cast members, if any, will be involved. Considering, however, that *SPOILER ALERT* things didn’t turn out so great for him at the end of the series, if Cranston was involved, it would likely have to be a prequel like AMC show “Better Call Saul,” which follows “Breaking Bad” attorney Saul Goodman.

The thing is, Cranston will be starring in the Broadway play “Network” until March 2019. If production on the film is indeed November through February, it’s unlikely he could be involved. But because details are so scarce right now, anything is possible!

The announcement comes just days after the creators of “The Walking Dead” confirmed that we can expect movies about that AMC show to air on the network. These films will revolve around the show’s lead character, Rick Grimes, after he made an exit from the series on Nov. 4.

Are you excited for a possible “Breaking Bad” film? What character from the series would you like to see most in the film?
