Yet another romantic moment has gone down in the gazebo!
The “Gilmore Girls” TV series is set in the fictional town of Stars Hollow, Conn., and while there are several noteworthy locations — Luke’s Diner and Miss Patty’s Dance School, for example — it’s the gazebo that has been home to some of the most special moments in the show. From engagement toasts to weddings and even real-life proposals, this structure is proving to be where the magic happens on- and off-screen.
One “Gilmore Girls” fan, Molly Larimer, recently had an incredibly special moment right there in the Stars Hollow gazebo: She got engaged.
Larimer’s boyfriend, Sebastian Wright, had been planning to surprise her for months, and when he dropped to one knee, she seemed completely shocked.
What Larimer thought was just a tour of the Stars Hollow lot with a Warner Bros. tour group turned out to be so much more.
She explained the proposal in an interview with Mashable:
“We got to the Stars Hollow area and our tour guide had everyone get out of the tram and go walk toward the gazebo,” she told Mashable. “We got up to it, and the guide asked us all if there were any big ‘Gilmore Girls’ fans in the group, and my fiancé and I both raised our hands. Then the guide asked us to go onto the gazebo to do an ‘improv scene.'”
Then, the big moment happened.
“When we got up onto the gazebo, Sebastian told me that we were there for another reason, and he got down on one knee.”
Thankfully, the special proposal was caught on video and posted to Larimer’s Twitter:
“‘Gilmore Girls’ has always been one of my favorite shows and Sebastian planned the perfect proposal and actually proposed in the actual Stars Hollow gazebo,” she captioned the video. “I’m so lucky and so happy to spend forever with him.”
Her now-fiancé clearly put a lot of thought into this grand gesture and even used her grandmother’s box to hold the ring:
Larimer also shared photos of the gorgeous engagement ring when she first announced the news on social media:
“Soooooo I’m engaged,” she wrote.
Team Sebastian, anyone?
The only thing that could make this better is if Lorelai and Rory were actually there to celebrate with the happy couple. But we have a feeling they’re there in spirit.
These fans deserve a toast, indeed. Congratulations to the happy couple!
