A loud bodily function gave away a suspect’s hiding spot to police

Never has a fart joke been more appropriate. A hiding suspect with a case of flatulence led to a recent Missouri arrest, according to Missouri’s Clay County Sheriff’s Office.

The police department shared the news on Facebook and shared further details about the investigation that ended in just about the funniest way possible. In the comments section, the sheriff’s office continued the story, writing, “The person was arrested over the weekend on a Clay County warrant for Possession of a Controlled Substance. We’ve gotta give props to Liberty PD for using their senses to sniff him out!”

The original post read, “If you’ve got a felony warrant for your arrest, the cops are looking for you and you pass gas so loud it gives up your hiding spot, you’re definitely having a 💩 day”:

It’s safe to say that pretty much everyone (except the person who was apprehended) is getting a good laugh out of what could have been a very tense situation. We can also assume that the suspect on the run was definitely feeling the pressure, if you know what we mean!

Once news outlets picked up the story and shared the news on social media, the internet immediately began cracking jokes. Twitter user @debbieford14 wrote, “He had the right to remain silent, but couldn’t!”:

Meanwhile, Twitter user @ronhenzel pointed out, “Sounds like he was going for ‘Breaking Bad,’ until he ended up breaking wind”:

It’s hard not to agree with Twitter user @LSTMUZIC that the suspect really “blew it”:

Whenever you’re having a bad day, just remember this story and know this: Things could always be worse. Because you could be on the run from the cops and have gas — and not exactly the kind that would help you speed off in a getaway car, either.
