You have to give the person who came up with this idea some serious creativity points. After the huge amounts of snow from the recent blizzard, people were left with some time to play and have a little fun.
Enter, Patrick M. Horton. He created the “Boutique Winter Igloo for 2” and listed it on Airbnb. At only $200 per night, you got your very own Brooklyn, NY winter wonderland that even included a some beautiful landscaping out front (aka a Christmas tree) and a comfortable bed with pillows.
The Airbnb post described the igloo as: “Dripping with ingenuity and alt-lifestyle aura lays the Snopocalypse of 2016’s most desirable getaway. Hand-crafted, and built using only natural elements – we’re offering the experience of a life time in this chic dome-style bungalow for you and bae.”
It actually is quite spacious inside with light holes and a comfy bed. As a bonus, you got not one but two pillows.
Unfortunately, Airbnb deemed the living space a little below their occupancy standards. Probably a fair conclusion considering the melting snow roof, no plumbing, water or electricity.
Got shut down by @Airbnb for not meeting occupancy standards. Though they were nice enough to tell us that it looked very well constructed.
