On the heels of Lady Gaga’s Oscar win for Best Original Song (not to mention her headline-making duet of “Shallow” with co-star Bradley Cooper), “A Star Is Born” is returning to theaters. The movie will be back on the big screen for one week only, starting this Friday, March 1. More than 1,150 theaters nationwide will show the film.

Warner Bros. reportedly added 12 minutes of previously unseen footage to the film, containing extended versions of fan-favorite songs, including “Black Eyes,” “Alibi,” and Lady Gaga’s a cappella version of “Shallow.”

The re-released version also features several new scenes and songs, including a scene in which the two main characters sit on an empty stage and write a song called “Clover.”

Other additional scenes reportedly include Cooper’s character singing “Too Far Gone” in a studio and Lady Gaga singing “Is That Alright” at the couple’s on-screen wedding. Despite reports of this new extended version having an alternate ending, the main plot points remain unchanged.

Haven’t yet seen “A Star Is Born” and want to know what the hype is about? Here’s what you need to know: Cooper co-wrote and made his directorial debut with this highly praised remake. At one point, the movie was reportedly supposed to star Beyonce, with Clint Eastwood behind the camera. But the timing didn’t work out. Beyonce bowed out of the film after getting pregnant, and Eastwood moved on to another project.

That left Cooper to take the reins of the project as both star and director. Cooper hired Lady Gaga to co-star as an aspiring singer who falls in love with his country music star character. The film follows the couple as they navigate the ups and downs of their relationship while coping with the pitfalls of newfound celebrity.

“A Star Is Born” was first released in October 2018 and grossed over $425 million. Considering that it reportedly only cost $36 million to make, this means that the film has already been a huge financial success. So, it’s not really surprising that the studio wants to bring it back.

Will you go see the extended version of “A Star Is Born” in theaters?
