Adele Announced That She’s Making A New Album
She made the announcement while performing at her friend's wedding!
She’s made the world wait a long time, but it’s finally official — Adele is releasing a new album, five years after the record-breaking, award-winning “25” took the world by storm. And we know it’s true because it’s come straight from the mouth of the singer herself.
Adele’s third studio release — her first album, “19,” was released in 2008 — will be out later this year. In audio clips from her best friend’s wedding posted to social media, she told guests to expect her album in September.
After officiating the wedding ceremony of her friends Laura Dockrill and former Maccabees member Hugo White, Adele entertained guests with a mixture of her own hits and covers, including “Rolling in the Deep,” Beyoncé’s “Crazy in Love” and The Spice Girls’ “Spice Up Your Life,” per Variety.
Although Adele’s rep made no comment when contacted by Variety, her manager Jonathan Dickens hinted to Music Week last month that the follow-up to “25” will be out this year, adding that “the sooner [it comes out] the better.”
In an Instagram post on her 31st birthday in May 2019, Adele referred to the difficult year she’d had, which included a split from her husband Simon Konecki, the father of her 7-year-old son, Angelo, in April 2019.
“This is 31,” she wrote. “30 tried me so hard but I’m owning it and trying my hardest to lean into it all.”
She went on to write about how life can be complicated and ever-changing.
“I’ve changed drastically in the last couple years and I’m still changing and that’s okay,” she wrote. “31 is going to be a big ol’ year and I’m going to spend it all on myself. For the first time in a decade I’m ready to feel the world around me and look up for once.”
She also had some advice for her followers:
“Be kind to yourself people we’re only human, go slow, put your phone down and laugh out loud at every opportunity,” she wrote. “Learning to REALLY truly love yourself is it, and I’ve only just realized that that is more than enough.”

Considering that so many artists get their album release dates and songs leaked by other people, props to Adele for doing it herself.
Fingers crossed she shares some more details before September.
