You Can Buy Bagels That Taste Just Like Hawaiian Bread
Here's where to buy them!
Bread comes in so many different and delicious forms. Bagels, buns, pretzels, rolls … is it any surprise that carbs are one of our favorite food groups? Now you can now enjoy two of the most delicious types of bread in one. Bakers have created Hawaiian sweet bread bagels, and they’re absolutely delicious.
In case you’re not already familiar with the wonder of Hawaiian sweet bread (also known as Hawaiian rolls), it’s a slightly sweet type of bread made with milk and, sometimes, pineapple juice. It’s ideal for pairing with savory or creamy flavors, so it’s a popular choice for burgers and sandwiches. It’s never come in bagel form, though — until now.
We first became aware of these when an Aldi aficionado on Instagram, @aldi.guru, posted a photo of a package of Hawaiian sweet bread bagels. Their verdict? 10/10. “Y’all, these are AMAZING!!” they wrote. “Sweet, chewy, and toasted up so nice! You already know I had it with schmear and everything seasoning.”
Hip2Save spotted them at Aldi in late May and noted that they’re an Aldi Find and thus they’re a limited-edition item.

They may have just been a limited-run item, but who knows? Maybe if they were popular enough, Aldi will start stocking them permanently?
Fortunately, Walmart carries a Hawaiian bread bagel. Their Sam’s Choice sweet Hawaiian bagels are $2.98 for a five-pack.
You could use these Hawaiian roll bagels to make some extra delicious breakfast sandwiches complete with egg, ham and cheese. They’d be great for an egg-and-avocado sandwich, too.
This isn’t the first time a brand has taken an already delicious food and remade it in bagel form. Trader Joe’s, for example, has sold pretzel bagels and, once, a New Jersey bagel shop called the Bagel Nook created Oreo bagels for a dessert spin on breakfast.
