Alicia Keys Performed With Her Son And It Was Absolutely Adorable
He's a little star in the making!
It’s not every day that an 8-year-old gets to wow a crowd with their piano skills on a stage as grand as the one at the iHeartRadio awards, but when you’re the son of musicians Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, it’s just par for the course. Keys performed her new song, “Raise A Man,” at the awards show on March 14, and she got to share the stage with her son Egypt in what was a very special moment for the mom.
Egypt joined her to impress the audience on the piano as his mom belted out lyrics from “Raise A Man” and even a few bars of “You Don’t Know My Name” before taking a moment to thank the crowd for allowing her and her son to experience this together.
See the mother and son duo on stage together in this clip of the performance from the TVS YouTube channel (Egypt appears a little after the 2-minute mark):
Despite the fact that Keys is no stranger to gracing the stage with incredible performers and wowing audiences with her powerhouse vocals, the mom seemed completely humbled by this moment. She took to Instagram to write about the feeling of sharing this moment with her son:
“The Mommy & Me moment I’ve been dreaming of!!!” she wrote. “WOWOWOW!!! Egy I’m in awe of you! You’re so BRAVE and BEAUTIFUL and make me so PROUD!!! The feeling I felt with you next to me during this song???? FULL BODY CHILLS. You ROCKED SON!!!!! [Y]our journey is just beginning and I’m so blessed to #raiseaman like you.”

The post-concert celebrations were absolutely adorable, as Egypt’s dad was also there to congratulate his son. And when Egypt was asked, “What do you want to say to your fans?” in a post-concert “interview,” he simply said, “Thank you. Thank you for watching.”

There really ain't nothin' child That the word never could ever mean In a heart like yours So full of shine So full of endless dreams There really ain't nothing child The word never could ever do Just brush it off when the word comes up Cause it don't apply to you I don't believe in never That word is just a way To handcuff your mind And steal your shine The worst kind Of thievery There really ain't nothin child Yes this A promise true Dance in the wild Beautiful child A new world belongs to you 💜💜💜✨✨✨🌈🌈🌈
Clearly, Swizz Beatz and Keys have a star on their hands!
It wasn’t only Egypt and his mom who stole the show, however. Swizz Beatz sat in the crowd with their other son, 4-year-old Genesis, while Egypt and his mom performed, and Genesis was getting the attention of A-listers, too.
Keys posted a video of her son adorably flirting with Taylor Swift while seated in the crowd:
“I swear… I leave these two alone for one minute,” the mom captioned the Instagram post.
So, it seems safe to say that all eyes were on this family at the iHeartRadio Awards, and for good reason! They couldn’t be cuter if they tried!
Here’s to hoping we see even more mother-son concerts between Keys and her boys.
