This viral video nails every parent’s thoughts during a day at Disney World
Taking a family vacation to Walt Disney World can be a magical experience. People from all over the world flock there hoping for a trip that will create memories to last a lifetime. But as any adult who has traveled there with kids can tell you, not every moment of your getaway will be as picture-perfect as it may end up looking on Instagram.
Kids are bound to get tired, hot and just plain overwhelmed with all the fun they’re having. Add in all the money you’re spending to deliver that fun, plus the stress of all the planning and preparation that goes into making sure you maximize your vacation, and you can see why you just may feel like you need a vacation from your vacation by the time all’s said and done.
Comedian John Crist put himself in the shoes of parents who have descended upon Disney World for the vacation of a lifetime, before realizing just how intense the trip can be. The result is a hilarious two-minute video in which he narrates the thoughts of every exhausted and beleaguered parent as they navigate the park with their kids.
Crist posted his video, which is aptly titled “Every parent at Disney,” to YouTube on July 30, and it has since racked up more than 800,000 views. Check it out below:
Crist hilariously captures many of the harsh truths parents must face during a trip to Disney World, including just how expensive everything is (“$45 for a pair of bedazzled mouse ears? Baby, you want these, or you want to go to college?”), the long lines (“We’re not waiting an hour and a half for impressions of France.”), constantly getting lost (“We need a map”), whining kids after a day spent traipsing all over the parks (“Hurry up. Make believe your feet aren’t sore. This is Disney. Use your imagination.”), and, of course, constantly doing a head count to make sure the whole family is there.
Too funny! Can you relate to Crist’s portrayal of a parent who’s had a little too much Disney fun?
