George Clooney Became Emotional While Listening to Amal’s Speech About Him

George and Amal Clooney have been married for nearly four years and are parents to 1-year-old twins, Ella and Alexander. The pair have been through a lot together, including balancing marriage and parenthood with two busy careers. Last month, Amal opened up in an interview with Vogue about how she and George make it all work.

On June 7, George was honored with the American Film Institute Life Achievement Award for his incredible accomplishments in the film industry. Amal gave a speech about her husband before he accepted his award, and it caused him to tear up.

In her remarks, the human rights lawyer spoke about George’s modesty — despite his many talents — as well as his generosity and strength of character.

“My love, what I have found with you is the great love that I always hoped existed. And seeing you with our children, Ella and Alexander, is the greatest joy in my life,” she said. “You fill our home with laughter and happiness and that’s even before the children have worked out that ‘dada’ is actually Batman, a talking fox and friends with Mary Poppins.”

At the event, George had some kind words to say about another famous couple, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

“They are just so happy,” he told Entertainment Tonight. “They are happy and in love and we need good news in the world.”

The Clooneys attended the royal couple’s wedding on May 19, where Amal stunned in a yellow Stella McCartney dress and matching yellow hat.
