Amazon now offers a kids’ book subscription box

Summer is almost here, but that doesn’t mean it’s time for children to stop learning. As many parents know, kids can become bored quickly, and can even lose some of the skills they gained throughout the year. One way to keep their minds sharp all summer long is through reading, particularly with subscription boxes.

Amazon recently launched a subscription box that will not only keep your child reading through summer, but will also help them build out their home library.

Amazon

If you’re a Prime member, you can get kids’ books shipped right to your door every month, or space it out a bit and opt for a shipment every two or three months. Each box costs $22.99 and has either four board books for children under 2, or two hardcovers for kids age 3–5, 6–8 or 9–12. Amazon says the subscription box will save you up to 35 percent off the list price of the books.

The books chosen for the boxes are highly rated by both customers and Amazon’s book editors. Amazon promises that the books customers receive will range from new releases to classics and and hidden gems. You can either wait to be surprised or log in to your account before the box ships to tailor the selections.

For now, the subscription is by invitation only for Prime members, but all you have to do is request an invitation and you’ll receive more information in the coming weeks.

If you don’t want to wait for Amazon’s picks, there are other children’s book subscription boxes to choose from. Take a look at some of the other options:

Bookroo

Bookroo is for children ages 0–10 and costs $19.95 per month, but you’ll get a discount on each box if you subscribe instead of purchasing boxes one at a time each month. Boxes with picture books or chapter books come with two hardcover books, while boxes with board books come with three books.
