Just in time to start gearing up for spring, Amazon has launched a plant store. Now it’s easier than ever before to search for a variety of plants, receive care tips and acquire a new piece of greenery for your home, all without leaving your house!
In true Amazon fashion, there’s a wide range of plant options, price points and even categories to search through. For instance, if you’re looking to bring life to your once-covered-in-snow patio, try looking in the “For Your Garden & Patio” section. Want to bring a housewarming gift to the new neighbors? Scroll through the “Great Gifts” section. You’ll find everything from succulents to orchids and more available through the retail giant.
Good news for existing or new Prime customers, too: The Amazon Plants Store offers free two-day shipping for Prime members, so you’ll receive the perks of your membership even for live plants.
As far as how these plants ship, it seems to vary depending on what type of plant you’re getting. If you live in a cold area and you’re worried about getting plants shipped to your climate, for example, you may want to reach out to the individual sellers to find out if a plant would survive the trip before making a purchase. However, the plant store does only seem to be shipping within the contiguous United States.
The news of this new shopping feature has people freaking out on Twitter.
Some are already complaining about spending too much money at the plant shop:
I spent $50 on Amazon's plant store. Someone please take away my card.
