If you haven’t invited Mr. and Mrs. Maisel into your living room yet, it’s time to tune into Amazon’s hit comedy.

“The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” follows the shenanigans of Midge Maisel, played by Rachel Brosnahan, as she shifts from Upper West Side housewife to Downtown stand-up comic in 1950s New York City. It’s the perfect time to catch up and laugh along with the series, which airs on Amazon Prime Video, won the Golden Globe Award for best comedy series this year.

This week, Variety reported Amazon has renewed the show for a third season. The big news came during the Peabody Awards in New York City. While accepting an award, creator Amy Sherman-Palladino joked to the Amazon executives, “You’re going to give it to us because we’re bringing home the fancy thing, right?” referring to a renewal and the prestigious Peabody the series won.

Amazon Studios head Jennifer Salke responded with the news fans were hoping for and confirmed “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” would get a third season.

Originally, Amazon had committed to two seasons and 18 episodes. Season one is available for streaming on Prime Video and season two comes this fall. Then, the third season will likely bring 10 additional episodes.

The binge-worthy show comes from Sherman-Palladino, who also created “Gilmore Girls.” Her latest project has similar fast-talking, quick wit anchoring the plot. However, “Mrs. Maisel” doesn’t censor the raunchy, late-night comedy routine of its title character so this show is not appropriate for the kids.
