‘American Idol’ Winner Jordin Sparks Is Married And Pregnant

“American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks has been keeping a secret since the summer, and it’s a big one!

Sparks married her boyfriend Dana Isaiah back in July, according to People.com. Sparks said her new hubby had a hard time keeping the secret from everyone.

“We’re both really excited,” Sparks told People. “He’s been like, ‘I want to shout it from the mountain tops!’ We’re really proud to be married to each other and to be celebrating this.”

Sparks, 27, has seen her share of the spotlight since winning “American Idol” in 2007 at the age of 17. (Has is it really been 10 years since then? Yikes!) Her husband, 25-year-old Isaiah, is a model whose career is just starting to take off.

The couple met after their families connected them via a group chat (yes, seriously!). Sparks met Isaiah’s family over Super Bowl weekend in February while doing charity work. A short time later, Isaiah told his family he wanted to move out west to follow his modeling dreams.

“My mom was trying to get [Jordin] to talk me out of moving to L.A. because she’s experienced the industry out here,” Isaiah told People. “It wasn’t like, ‘We want you guys to date.’”

The pair talked every day for a month and met for the first time in Los Angeles when Isaiah came out for an agency meeting. It didn’t take long for sparks to fly (no pun intended!). By summer, the couple tied the knot but decided to keep it quiet.

Sparks said she had a feeling pretty quickly that the new man in her life was “the one.”

“A couple days after we had actually met, I was like in my head ‘That’s going to be my husband! That’s my husband right there,’” the singer told People. “When I’m with him, I feel comfort and safety and calm and peace, and those aren’t things that I normally felt. So it was a little wake-up call for me.”

The pair wed in Hawaii on July 16 with a group of close friends, according to Page Six.

Not only did the couple just reveal their marriage, but they also have some other major news! The newlyweds are expecting their first child sometime in the late spring of 2018! The couple found out they are expecting back in August and were happily surprised.

“It’s been really crazy because everything changes,” Sparks said about her pregnancy. “Once we got over the initial shock of it, now again just like it is with the marriage, to be able to share that this amazing thing is happening, it’s such a great thing. We did this together!”
