McCreery was more than ready to marry the girl of his dreams:
His song, “This Is it,” is about their relationship and his proposal, which he pulled off in a secluded spot on Grandfather Mountain about 200 miles northwest of Garner, a Raleigh suburb.
A few months ago, McCreery shared this photo of the beautiful diamond ring he proposed with:
Dugal, who is a nurse at Duke University Hospital, wore a gown by Morilee. McCreery’s childhood pastor officiated the nuptials, which included personalized wedding vows.
Dugal hails from Louisiana, so the couple kicked off their wedding weekend with a Cajun-style shrimp boil. They also served Cajun dishes, as well as steak and pasta, at their wedding reception. Dessert was an assortment of pies instead of a traditional wedding cake.
“I kept it very classic,” Dugal told People. “I went with greenery and white flowers, some lanterns and candle votives [for a] rustic feel. We fell in love with the mountains during the summertime [when Scotty proposed], and our [venue] is like a little castle in the woods.”
The newlyweds shared their first dance as a married couple to Elvis Presley’s “Can’t Help Falling in Love.”
They plan to honeymoon in Tahiti.
“The one thing she really wanted was an over-water bungalow,” McCreery told People of his new wife.
Before McCreery left for his Tahitian honeymoon, his team shared sneak peek of his new “This Is It” lyric video. What a touching tribute to a sweet love story!
