Tom Petty’s Daughter Shares Personal Photos Of Her Late Dad

Losing a father is one of the most painful experiences anyone can experience.

But when your father is a rock ‘n’ roll legend, it probably feels like your grief is under a microscope. Leading up to rocker Tom Petty’s death on October 2, his daughter AnnaKim Violette gave the world a glimpse into her ordeal — and her love for her dad.

Violette, 35, has an Instagram account on which she posts regularly. In fact, she posted photos and videos from her father’s final performances a couple of weeks ago.

Petty suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu, California, on Oct. 2 and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Over the past couple of days, Violette has been sharing photos of her father throughout the years.

Angry with the news coverage which erroneously pronounced him dead earlier in the day while he was still alive, she simply continued to share her own story with the world as she sat by his bedside in the hospital.

Violette also posted the below picture on Instagram with a line from one of Petty’s most popular songs “Free Fallin'” as the caption: “We are all a mirror of divine love.”

Another side of rocker Tom Petty

She shared a side of Tom Petty not many people saw. In addition to being a music icon, Petty also loved his role as a father and grandfather.

During those long hours of waiting at the hospital, Petty’s daughter continued to share stories about her father. In one post, she talked about a special jacket her father had made for her as a kid, which matched one he wore onstage.

“My dad had matching stage clothes made for me as a kid this jacket still fits me made by glen Palmer from granny takes a trip when I got the call to come to the hospital I grabbed this jacket and I’m still wearing it⚡”

A short time later, Violette posted a selfie of her with the jacket. You can clearly see the emotional toll of the day’s events on her face.
