Love is in the air! Ariana Grande married her partner, Dalton Gomez, this weekend in an intimate ceremony that only saw a handful of friends and family in attendance. Grande’s rep confirmed the marriage to People magazine.

“It was tiny and intimate — less than 20 people,” the rep said. “The room was so happy and full of love. The couple and both families couldn’t be happier.”

Grande and Gomez began dating in January 2020. By the end of 2020, they were engaged, after spending most of the COVID-19 quarantine together.

Although the couple keeps their relationship quite private, Grande does occasionally post about Gomez on her Instagram page, including sharing a shot of her engagement ring back in December. The unique pearl-and-diamond engagement ring proved that the couple was serious, but the private ceremony still caught many fans by surprise who weren’t expecting a wedding so soon, let alone such a low-key ceremony.

Needless to say, shortly after the news broke that Ariana Grande married her beloved fiance, Twitter blew up as fans discussed the shocking news.

Twitter user @connerrm had some feelings about not being able to see the wedding dress in which Ariana Grande married Gomez:

Meanwhile, stars like Lana Del Rey showed their support by liking tweets about the happy news:

If you have a lot of questions about the man that Ariana Grande married, you’re not alone. Dalton Gomez is a 25-year-old luxury real estate agent who hails from Southern California. He mostly stays out of the public eye, which is a big change from Grande’s past exes, like Pete Davidson who often publicly discussed his relationship with Grande.

However, while Gomez might not be as public a figure, he’s still quite wealthy. He is rumored to have a net worth around $20 million, according to Life & Style. He also seems to run with a famous set — Elle magazine notes that he has been seen in Miley Cyrus’s Instagram stories as early as 2017.

Although we know that Gomez and Grande run in similar circles, we don’t have many details about how the pair actually met. Gomez made an appearance in the May 2020 music video for the song Grande released with Justin Bieber, “Stuck with U,” in which Gomez kisses and dances with his now-wife at the end of the video.

A note at the end of the music video states that all net proceeds of the sales and streams of “Stuck With U” will go to funding grants and scholarships for children of first responders who have been impacted by COVID-19 in partnership with the First Responders Children’s Foundation.

Grande tweeted about the video on May 1, 2020, though she didn’t mention Gomez at the time:

So, the first big relationship reveal from Grande and Gomez actually served an altruistic purpose, which is in line with Grande’s passion for philanthropy. In 2017, she helped to raise $13 million for victims of the terrorist attack in Manchester, United Kingdom.

“Stuck with U,” which is a reference to the coronavirus lockdown, now appears to have been a bit prophetic as Grande and Gomez have apparently fallen even deeper in love during quarantine. And Grande was hailed as a voice of reason among young people during the pandemic as she urged her fans to take COVID-19 seriously and stay home.

It looks like staying home paid off for the young couple. Best wishes to the happy pair!
