Check Out The Clever Policy This Bar Is Using To Help Keep Women Safe
Going on a date with someone you hardly know or someone you’ve just met can be, well, just plain scary. And there’s one bar in Lincolnshire, England, that just gets it.
Is the guy you met online a far cry from the person he said he was online? At this pub, all you have to do is go to the bar and “ask for Angela.”
A Twitter user posted a photo of a poster from the women’s bathroom of the bar. It instructs women of its “ask for Angela” policy.
i saw this in a toilet and thought it was important and should be a thing everywhere not just lincolnshire !!!! pic.twitter.com/oO45I7gaJL

The poster reads, “Are you on a date that isn’t working out? Do you feel like you’re not in a safe situation? Is your Tinder or POF [Plenty of Fish] date not who they said they were in their profile? Does it feel a bit weird?” In that case, all you have to do is, “go to the bar and ask for Angela.”
Once you do ask for Angela, the bar staff will know you need help and will get you a taxi or find some way to get you out of there quickly and quietly, the poster goes on to explain.

This is in an effort to help keep women safe. According to Refinery29, it’s part of the #NoMoreCampaign. No More is an organization out to end sexual assault and domestic abuse. You’ve seen the “No More” commercials on TV, right? Well, this is just another effort to help put a stop to sexual assault and abuse.
The person who shared the poster on Twitter noted that this should be something that’s used in more places. It should also be available not only to women, but to everyone.
Here’s to hoping that this “ask for Angela” thing takes off. Because really, we’ve got to find a way to say NO MORE once and for all.
