Attention, ’80s Kids! Disney Is Bringing Back The ‘Muppet Babies’

Muppet Babies” is making a comeback, and we couldn’t be more excited.

Please tell me you remember this fantastic Saturday-morning cartoon? Jim Henson’s beloved animated show followed Kermit the Frog, Piggy, Fozzie Bear and their other pals as they went on crazy adventures within the walls of their playroom.

The original series ran from 1984 to 1991 on CBS (Disney acquired the rights in 2004). So, it’s likely the kids that grew up watching “Muppet Babies now have kids of their own. Which means, families everywhere are waiting anxiously for the reboot that will air on Disney Junior starting in 2018.

The hand-drawn animated series featuring all the muppets we know and love is getting a fancy refresh too. The new version will feature CG-animated characters.

“We are proud, and a little bit giddy, to begin production on our new version of the much-loved ‘Muppet Babies,” Nancy Kanter, from Disney Junior Worldwide, told “Variety.” “Parents will delight in seeing their favorite Muppets in the mixed animation style they remember from the original series, and kids will be introduced to this warm and zany world made just right for the Disney Junior audience.”

With this news, anyone else feel like your whole childhood is repeating itself?  From the return of stirrup pants to the “Gilmore Girls” revival, we are getting to relive the best of the best. And, wasn’t that the “Popples” I just cruised past on Netflix?

But, seriously “Muppet Babies” was our favorite. We haven’t been this excited since we heard Anna Kendrick sing Cyndi Lauper as a Troll (trust us, it’s good).
