This DIY project covers three of the senses: sight, smell and touch. It’s a pretty shade of purple and has a lovely glittery sparkle. And the soft dough is downright addicting after a long day at the office.

Then there’s the lavender scent. Did you know there’s research proving the scent of lavender can help you relax? It can lower your heart rate and blood pressure, even making you a little drowsy. Perfect for an anti-stress ball!

Here’s how to make your own anti-stress lavender putty. Watch the video instructions above for a little help. Even the music in the video will help you feel relaxed!

What You’ll Need

  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1/2 cup of salt
  • 3 tbsp. cream of tartar
  • 1 tbsp. oil
  • 1/2 cup of boiling water
  • 10 to 20 drops of lavender essential oil
  • Purple food coloring (or another color that calms you)
  • Glitter (optional)

Here’s What To Do

  1. Combine the flour, salt, cream of tartar, oil, boiling water and lavender essential oil in a mixing bowl. Stir until mix is a putty-like texture.
  2. Add the purple food coloring and stir again.
  3. The best part! Add glitter to your mixture. If you choose not to add glitter, you may need to add more flour so the mixture isn’t too sticky.
  4. Wait about 20 minutes until your putty is cool.
  5. Squeeze and let your anxiety disappear!
  6. Don’t forget to take deep breathes.

If you’re stressed out, give it a go. Remember, stress can cause health problems, including weight gain and hypertension. Try it out for yourself and make the most tense moments of your day feel like you’re at the spa!

How To Make The Most Adorable DIY Bunny—Out Of A Sock!

How would you like to turn your missing sock problem into a quick and easy way to make everyone smile this Easter, or all year round?

Handimania is teaching us how to make darling little bunnies out of socks. The very best part? You don’t even have to pull out the sewing machine or sewing needle! It’s also a great DIY craft to do with the kids.

First, here’s what you’ll need:

  • One sock (per bunny… and the socks need to be at least midcalf length)
  • Rice (using grit is another option)
  • Scissors
  • Twine
  • Ribbon
  • A marker
  • Tape (something like packing tape or a half-used role of duct tape… you’re only using this to hold the sock open)

Start by looping the sock through the roll of tape and folding the edge of the sock over the tape. When you have an opening, fill the sock with rice. If you don’t have tape, just carefully pour the rice into the sock.

You only need to fill the sock halfway. Be sure you are still able to pinch the heel of the sock.

Next, squeeze the portion of the sock filled with rice and the unfilled part of the sock (this should almost resemble a snowman with three separate parts—the smallest on top, the biggest on the bottom). Use your twine to tie both areas nice and tight!

Cut the top portion of the sock (the unfilled part) right down the middle. That’s right! Your bunny now has ears. Using your scissors, cut from the inside of the ear to make them more petal-shaped.

You’re almost done! Tie your ribbon around the bunny’s neck (between the two rice-filled portions of your sock). Then use your marker to give your bunny eyes and a mouth. If you used a black sock, you can use white thread to sew the eyes and mouth.

If you want to add a cute little tail, grab some of the fabric from the bottommost part of the bunny, and tie it up with twine.

And voila! How cute are these?! Kids will go crazy for them this Easter, and you’ll go crazy for how easy they are to make! Be sure to check out the video for some extra help.

Quick And Easy Recipe For Delicious Mini Cheeseburger Sliders

It’s safe to say most mouths will start watering at the sight (or smell) of a good cheeseburger. For those rare times when you don’t want to eat an entire burger, there are these perfect mini cheeseburger sliders. They’re a great kickoff to any dinner party!

Here’s What You Need To Get Started

  • Cookie sheet or 1 to 2-inch deep baking tray
  • Tin foil
  • Pam
  • Skillet
  • Hot plate (or regular stovetop)
  • An oven
  • Toothpicks

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 cup yellow onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Sliced cheddar cheese
  • 24 slider buns
  • Sliced pickles

How To Make Your Sliders

  1. First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Cover the baking sheet with foil, and spray the foil with Pam (or any other cooking spray).
  3. Using the skillet, brown the ground beef. Add the diced onions and Worcestershire sauce about halfway through cooking the beef.
  4. Drain the grease from the ground beef really well. We suggest using a paper towel to soak up any remaining grease so the buns don’t get soggy!
  5. Line the bottom buns in rows on the cookie sheet. Separate the buns before you place them—that way they’re a lot easier to separate at the end.
  6. Spread the beef onto the slider buns (that’s right, no need to make individual patties!)
  7. Top each slider with a small slice of cheddar cheese. This will help to keep the beef in place.
  8. Add the top of each bun to each mini cheeseburger.
  9. Cover the entire cookie sheet with another layer of aluminum foil and bake for 20 to 30 minutes or until the cheese is melted. If you want the top of the bun to be just a little crispy, take the aluminum foil off for the last five minutes (optional).
  10. When the sliders are baked, top each slider with a pickle slice. Pat the pickles dry beforehand so the buns don’t get soggy. Keep the pickles in place using the toothpicks.

Then your sliders are ready to serve! Yep, mini cheeseburgers are just as delicious as the real deal.

Easy DIY Craft: Turn An Old Picture Frame Into The Cutest Key Holder

If you have trouble keeping track of your keys (and who doesn’t), a key holder is a must. But why purchase something generic from a big box store? Here’s a fun and easy way to make your key holder a piece of art. Trust me, your guests will be super impressed when they walk in the front door!

First, here’s a short list of materials you’ll need:

  • A picture frame (old or new). A 5×7 frame would be ideal, but 4×6 will also work. For a modern twist we suggest a frame with a funky shape. For a classic look use a rectangular shaped frame.
  • A bold paint color.
  • A foam brush.
  • Three to five screw hooks.
  • Ribbon and a hot glue gun (optional).

Here’s how to put your key holder together. You can follow along with this step—by—step video for an example, but be sure to make your key holder your own!

  1. Remove the back and glass of your frame. Using the foam brush, paint the frame the color or pattern of your choosing (remember to pick something that pops)!
  2. Once your frame is dry, screw in the hooks about 1 inch away from each other. You can pre—drill the holes before you paint, or screw them in after. Our example shows three hooks, but you can add as many as you like.
  3. Personalize it! Dress up your key holder by using a hot glue gun to add some ribbon or a bow.
  4. Lastly, hang your cute new key holder and enjoy!

Weird…all of a sudden you know exactly where to find your keys!

Here’s How To Make Amazing Caramel Apple Nachos

This recipe for caramel apple nachos will throw regular nachos out the window! Simply trade the tortilla chips for apples, a much healthier bottom layer. Then ditch the cheese and sour cream for a whole lot of deliciousness!

Appetizer? Dessert? Doesn’t really matter…this is a dish that can be enjoyed during any meal, or as a snack.  Watch the video for step-by-step instructions.

Ingredients

  • 3-4 granny smith apples
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips, melted
  • 1/3 cup chocolate sauce
  • 1/3 cup caramel sauce
  • 1/2 cup caramel chips, not melted
  • Two Kit Kat Bars (tip: put Kit Kat bars in the freezer)

Things You’ll Need

  • Knife
  • Serving plate
  • Microwavesafe bowls for melting
  • Spoons for drizzling
  • Rolling pin

What To Do

  1. Start by slicing your apples into eight to ten pieces.
  2. Arrange your apple slices into a fun spiral or layered pattern on the plate.
  3. Crush your Kit Kat bars into tiny pieces. Put the bars into a plastic bag and use the rolling pin to break them up. You can also use a meat hammer if you don’t have a rolling pin handy. By the way, using frozen Kit Kat bars will prevent you from ruining the chocolate layers! Set Kit Kat pieces aside.
  4. Sprinkle the caramel chips over the apples (these are not melted).
  5. Place your white chocolate chips in a microwavesafe bowl. Microwave in 20 second intervals until melted and drizzle lightly over the apples.
  6. Grab your microwavesafe bowl again. This time mix your chocolate sauce with 1 tsp of water to thin it out. Stir and microwave for 15 second intervals until melted. The consistency should be optimal for drizzling. Add to your apple nachos.
  7. Repeat the previous step using the caramel sauce. Add 1 tsp of water to thin it out, stir and microwave until the consistency is perfect for drizzling.
  8. Last layer! Grab those Kit Kats and sprinkle them over the entire platter. You can add Kits Kats before drizzling the chocolate and caramel sauces if you wish.

Chow down! Trust me, you’ll never wish for chicken or beef nachos ever again!

This Heartbreaking Video Reminds Us Who’s Listening When We Criticize Ourselves

If you wouldn’t criticize the younger version of yourself, then why in the world are you criticizing the woman you are today? That’s the message behind a powerful video by YouTuber Rachel Levin.

The video opens with Levin doing her makeup and criticizing every perceived flaw, from the dark circles under her eyes to her “big” nose.

We’re all guilty of being overly self-critical, often obsessing over flaws in ourselves that others often don’t even see. Levin’s video, simply called “I Am Ugly,” aims to put the harsh words we have for ourselves into a new light. In the video, Levin has no problem tearing herself down as an adult, but struggles to point out the same flaws when her younger self appears.

“You said my dark circles were too dark, my nose was too big, my lips were too small, and my eyebrows were too bushy,” the young girl says to her older self. “What else is wrong with me, Rachel?”

The “grownup” Levin refuses to answer even when the little girl begs for insults about stretch marks and hairy arms. Instead, Levin tells the little girl she’s beautiful. In another powerful twist, the young girl flips the script, and asks her grown-up self: “Then why can’t you say that to yourself?”

Take a look at the powerful video:

If you were the person looking at your own mini-me, you likely would hesitate to point out flaws, too. Isn’t this a good reminder to go easy on ourselves? The world is tough enough as it is, and we could all benefit from showing more kindness—especially to ourselves.

15 Ways To Save Big At Bath & Body Works

From candles to fragrances, Bath & Body Works products draw you in every time you visit the mall. It’s so hard to walk past, right? But just because something smells good doesn’t mean it fits into your budget.

That’s why The Penny Hoarder is helping us make Bath & Body Works more affordable with these 10 insider tips.

1. Share your phone number and email.

We know. Another message in the inbox. But giving Bath & Body Works your phone number and email will get you some great coupons.

“It can [be] annoying to always give your cell number and email address every time you check out, even if you’re getting free stuff…but you want more free stuff, right?” Jenn Peters of Because I’m Cheap said to Penny Hoarder. “So when the cashier asks for it, fork it over!”

Peters also recommends calling the company at 1-800-756-5005 each season to ask to be added to the promotions list. She says this often gets you coupons for a free travel-size item or free signature-size item with $10 purchase.

2. Become an online fan.

Like, post and tweet. Connecting with Bath & Body Works on social media because the company shares special deals and promotions with loyal online fans.

Click the links to get its email newsletter, and follow the company on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

3. Save your receipt and take the survey.

Following the instructions found at the bottom of your receipt will often get you a discount, according to The Penny Hoarder. Laura Oliver with A Frugal Chick says the discounts are generally $10 to $30 off. Plus, according to The Krazy Coupon Lady, these survey coupons never expire! So if you have an old survey coupon laying around that you never used, you can still use it! Time to dig up those receipts.

4. Exchange broken Wallflowers

The Wallflower plug-ins are obviously an amazing Bath & Body Works product that you’ll want to keep buying. Did you know that you can exchange broken Wallflowers with no questions asked? Simply bring in your broken Wallflower and exchange it for a new one at anytime for free! The Krazy Coupon Lady said she exchanged her Wallflower after 4 years.

5. Save the date!

Timing is key to saving at Bath & Body Works. The company has semi-annual sales in January and June. You can use your coupons on top of the major discounts. Products are typically 50 to 75 percent off.

The Krazy Coupon Lady offers this tip for the biggest shopping day of the year: “Normally on Black Friday, a VIP bag is offered for $20 when you spend $40. Inside the bag is usually over $100 of merchandise.”

6. Shop online.

When buying products online, you can “stack deals,” according to The Penny Hoarder. Before making an online purchase, check Cashback Monitor to see how much cash back you’ll be getting by using various credit cards or reward cards. Then search for Bath & Body Works coupons to use on top of your cash-back savings.

7. Learn expiration dates

Crack the code on expiration dates! Typically, unopened lotions, body wash, and candles have a three-year shelf life. Dates are printed on the bottom of products. The Krazy Coupon Lady explains that you only need to know the first four digits to the manufacturing date.

  • First digit: Year (ex: 4 = 2014)
  • Next three digits: Day (ex: 251 = 251st day of the year)

8. Get gifts wrapped at the store.

Did you know this? If you shop in-store, the employees will give you cello bag, ribbon and traditional blue and white checked bag for free. Bath & Body Works just became everyone’s go-to spot for last-minute gifts.

9. Buy discounted gift cards.

This is where you have to hope for some luck. You may be able to find discounted Bath & Body Works gift cards on websites like Raise, Gift Card Granny and Cardpool. When we looked cards were discounted 5 to 8 percent.

10. Don’t throw away expired coupons.

There is a three-day grace period for expired coupons. “Just ask nicely, and they will honor it,” Peters told The Penny Hoarder.

11. You can use your Victoria’s Secret Angel Card

Since Bath & Body Works and Victoria’s Secret are both owned by L Brands, you can use your Angel credit card at Bath & Body Works! However, you won’t receive any points. (Sorry!)

Similar to this, employees can use their employee discount at L Brands sister stores, Victoria’s Secret and Henri Bendel.

12. Watch prices closely.

If there’s a big sale the day after you buy, you can get the cheaper price! Bath & Body Works has a 14-day price guarantee, according to its website. If you made your purchase online, call 1-800-756-5005. If you bought in a store, just show your receipt.

13. In-store vs. online

Bath & Body Works will not match with other stores or online prices. For example, if there’s an online sale special, that price will not be matched in-store. So make sure you keep tabs on the different sales going on in-store and online, and get the best price!

14. Hate it? Don’t keep it.

The last insider tip from The Penny Hoarder is simple. Don’t eat the loss if you buy a product you don’t love. Bath & Body Works has a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee policy. If you don’t like something, return it.

In fact, Bath & Body Works satisfaction guarantee is so good that you can exchange any product as long as it no more than half used! As long as it’s a scent Bath & Body Works currently carries, you can exchange it for a new scent no questions asked. If it’s a retired scent, you’ll still get store credit! (And let’s be honest, store credit to Bath & Body never goes to waste.)

15. Save on Aromatherapy

The Aromatherapy product line hardly ever goes on sale! However, you can still get a discount on these scents. Save your Aromatherapy purchases for when you have a free product with purchase coupon or a percentage off coupon!
