If you’re looking for a healthy alternative to ice cream that doesn’t sacrifice taste, this could be the dessert you’ve been waiting for. Cado Ice Cream is made using avocado puree, avocado oil and cane sugar as a sweetener. So not only is it a healthier version of your favorite frozen treat, but it’s also another excuse to eat avocados. Really, does it get any better than that?

The ice cream comes in three flavors: Simply Lemon, Deep Dark Chocolate and Mint Chocolate Chip. Each one contains 170 calories per serving. You can find Cado Ice Cream in Whole Foods and other health food stores across the country, according to Cado’s website.

Of course, there are plenty of non-dairy ice cream options out there, including from Ben & Jerry’s. But using avocado as a main ingredient is definitely different.

Jack Dowd, one of Cado’s co-founders, told Insider that avocado was the perfect option for a healthier take on ice cream because the texture is similar but subtle enough not to be detected in the taste.

“The avocado base offers more nutrition and a superior fat, doesn’t compete with traditional ice cream flavors, has a really creamy quality just like ice cream, and you can indulge but still feel good after eating it,” Dowd told Insider.
