Coconut milk was all the rage this summer. It’s nice to have a hint of the tropics in your coffee when it’s hot out, you know? But, if you’re not someone who typically drinks the non-dairy alternative, you’re likely prepared to ditch it this fall season to opt for some of the more seasonal flavors.

Especially if you just can’t seem to get aboard the Pumpkin Spice Latte train, the latest coffee craze could be the one for you. According to Refinery 29, a coffee shop in Brooklyn started making these drinks a year ago. Now, they’re gaining in popularity. So much so, you may want to recreate the flavor for yourself at home.

Banana milk, yes, banana milk. That’s what has the caffeinated world buzzing these days. According to the Refinery29 article, when banana milk is added to your cold brew drink, it won’t wind up with an overwhelming banana flavor. Your drink will simply be smooth, sweetened and creamy. And that doesn’t sound half bad.

If you’ve got a blender powerful enough to whip a banana until it no longer has the texture of a banana, that’s just the kind of thing you’re going to need to make banana milk. Mix this smooth banana liquid with milk, add to your coffee and voila.

You may also be able to shop banana milk at your grocery store, if you’re in one of the few places that keep it in stock.

May the fall season bring you plenty of deliciously flavored caffeinated beverages!
