Barnes & Noble is offering a special opportunity for parents and kids to enjoy together. Participating Barnes & Noble stores are offering a free reading of a Christmas favorite, “The Polar Express,” complete with free cocoa and a cookie. What better way to ring in the holidays than with a festive story and snack?
The company encourages families to wear their coziest pajamas to the event, which will take place at 7 p.m. on Dec. 7. It’s a great chance to bring an extra bit of joy to the holiday season, for no additional cost. Christmastime can be especially hard on the wallet, so it’s nice for Barnes & Noble to keep that in mind when scheduling an event. And the best part: It’ll be fun for children and adults alike.
Barnes & Noble’s in-house cafe is where you’ll get the complimentary hot chocolate and cookie, so be sure to arrive a few minutes early to make sure you’ve received your snacks. That way, you’ll be all settled in before it’s time for the reading to begin.
“The Polar Express” tells the tale of a boy invited aboard a special train ride to the North Pole on Christmas Eve. It’s a classic, and you won’t want to miss out on the chance to experience the magic of the season right along with him. You can check to see if this event is being held at a location near you on the Barnes & Noble website.
If the event isn’t taking place near you or for some reason you’re unable to attend, you can always recreate this moment in the comfort of your own home. All you’ll need is some snuggly PJs, hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and a copy of “The Polar Express” to create a lasting memory (and maybe even a new tradition) with your kids.
Whether you’re able to experience this at your local Barnes & Noble or you read this story together as a family at home, this is sure to be a moment you’ll cherish for many Christmases to come.
