Update 5/12/17: Strutt & Parker confirms that this home is now currently off the market.

If you’ve always wanted to live like Lizzie Bennet from “Pride and Prejudice,” now’s your chance. The incredible country home where the 1995 BBC miniseries was filmed is for sale, and you could be the one to buy it… if you have $11.6 million to spare. (And who doesn’t, right?)

The home is called Luckington Court (can you imagine putting that on your stationery?) and is located in the southern Cotswolds, a rural area in south-central England. The Cotswolds themselves are a designated “Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty,” and the home itself is in the northwest part of Wiltshire county. It even sounds fancy.

Luckington Court served as the Bennet family’s home in the “Pride and Prejudice” miniseries, which starred Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennet and Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy. So keep that in mind when considering the price – Colin Firth touched the stuff in that house. That alone makes it worth the $11 million to me.

And if Colin Firth doesn’t do it for you, the property itself is full of historical intrigue.

According to records, the land housed a manor belonging to King Harold all the way back in 1066. The current home dates back to the 16th century, and it’s been expanded and updated over the course of the centuries, according to Country Life. The home’s been under the same ownership now for 70 years.

Now for the good part: the details. Luckington Court sits on a stunning 156 acres that include “beautifully maintained gardens, paddocks, pasture and woodland with frontage to the River Avon.”

The house itself is 9,600 square feet, and has six reception rooms that you’ll certainly never sit in, seven main bedrooms, six bathrooms, and an annex. There are also stables, cottages and several modernized farm outbuildings in case you get sick of the main house.

“Everyone expects a house that has been owned by the same family for 70 years to be covered in cobwebs, but that is certainly not the case at Luckington,” said June Pollock in an interview with Country Life. Pollock took on the work of renovating and modernizing the manor after her mother died in 2013.

The property is listed with Strutt & Parker for £9 million. Call your agent now!
