Big Black, of MTV’s ‘Rob and Big,’ Has Died At 45 Years Old
Here is some very sad news: Christopher “Big Black” Boykin died Tuesday morning. “Big Black” (as his fans called him) starred alongside Rob Dyrdek on MTV’s “Rob and Big.” The popular show followed the best friends as they pulled pranks, performed stunts, and got into all kinds of scrapes together.
A representative for Big told PEOPLE magazine that the cause of death was a heart attack. The star was only 45 years old, and he leaves behind a 9-year-old daughter, Isis. His ex-wife shared their grief on Big’s Twitter account:
This is Shannon, Big Black's ex-wife, I'm heartbroken to tell you of Black's passing. He's everything to me and Isis and we will miss him 💔😢

So heartbreaking.
Big got into the entertainment business in a roundabout manner. He began his career serving in the U.S. Navy, and from there the 6′ 6,” 375-lb Big began working for skateboarding star Dyrdek as a security guard.
It was not long before the duo became fast friends, and their hilarious camaraderie made for perfect television. Their show “Rob and Big” was a fan favorite on MTV, and Big also later appeared in other programs with Dyrdek such as “Fantasy Factory” and “Ridiculousness.”
