And why would they be when J.K. Rowling just keeps giving them more to love? According to The Bookseller, the author is releasing three new short stories to the Pottermore Presents collection.
Pottermore has yet to make an official announcement, but Barnes & Noble, Apple’s iBook and Amazon.com all have three new titles for sale. They are: “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power,” “Politics and Pesky Poltergeists; Short Stories From Hogwarts of Heroism” and “Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies and Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide.”
Each are supposed to be quick reads—as if you’d be able to put them down regardless. According to the publication, each e-book will retail $2.99 (for Kindle). They will be available for purchase on September 6. But, they’re available for pre-order now on Amazon.com.
A Pottermore spokesperson provided a few more details to The Bookseller:
The Pottermore Presents series will launch in September and is intended to supplement the Harry Potter book series with short-form content that is entertaining, creatively curated by the Pottermore staff and accessed easily on mobile platforms. We also recognise that not all Harry Potter fans who want to read more about the wizarding world visit pottermore.com so we’ve developed Pottermore Presents to to reach those fans through other channels.
The titles will be available on the Pottermore shop and via leading online retail outlets.
Here’s a quick synopsis of each of the short stories:
1. “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists”
According to the Amazon listing, “These stories of power, politics and pesky poltergeists give you a glimpse into the darker side of the wizarding world, revealing the ruthless roots of Professor Umbridge, the lowdown on the Ministers for Magic and the history of the wizarding prison Azkaban. You will also delve deeper into Horace Slughorn’s early years as Potions master at Hogwarts – and his acquaintance with one Tom Marvolo Riddle.”
2. “Short Stories From Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies”
“These stories of heroism, hardship and dangerous hobbies profile two of the Harry Potter stories’ most courageous and iconic characters: Minerva McGonagall and Remus Lupin. J.K. Rowling also gives us a peek behind the closed curtains of Sybill Trelawney’s life, and you’ll encounter the reckless, magical-beast-loving Silvanus Kettleburn along the way.”
“Hogwarts An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide takes you on a journey to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. You’ll venture into the Hogwarts grounds, become better acquainted with its more permanent residents, learn more about lessons and discover secrets of the castle . . . all at the turn of a page.”
