Big News! J.K. Rowling Is Releasing 3 New ‘Harry Potter’ Books In September

The “Harry Potter craze will never be over. Not only are people willing to pay lots of money for a matching set of Hogwarts House-themed books, they’re also creating nurseries for their children based on the stories. Like I said, fans will never be over it.

And why would they be when J.K. Rowling just keeps giving them more to love? According to The Bookseller, the author is releasing three new short stories to the Pottermore Presents collection.

Pottermore has yet to make an official announcement, but Barnes & Noble, Apple’s iBook and all have three new titles for sale. They are: “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power,” “Politics and Pesky Poltergeists; Short Stories From Hogwarts of Heroism” and “Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies and Hogwarts: An Incomplete and Unreliable Guide.”

Each are supposed to be quick reads—as if you’d be able to put them down regardless. According to the publication, each e-book will retail $2.99 (for Kindle). They will be available for purchase on September 6. But, they’re available for pre-order now on

A Pottermore spokesperson provided a few more details to The Bookseller:

The Pottermore Presents series will launch in September and is intended to supplement the Harry Potter book series with short-form content that is entertaining, creatively curated by the Pottermore staff and accessed easily on mobile platforms. We also recognise that not all Harry Potter fans who want to read more about the wizarding world visit so we’ve developed Pottermore Presents to to reach those fans through other channels.

The titles will be available on the Pottermore shop and via leading online retail outlets.

Here’s a quick synopsis of each of the short stories:

1. “Short Stories from Hogwarts of Power, Politics and Pesky Poltergeists”

According to the Amazon listing, “These stories of power, politics and pesky poltergeists give you a glimpse into the darker side of the wizarding world, revealing the ruthless roots of Professor Umbridge, the lowdown on the Ministers for Magic and the history of the wizarding prison Azkaban. You will also delve deeper into Horace Slughorn’s early years as Potions master at Hogwarts – and his acquaintance with one Tom Marvolo Riddle.”


2. “Short Stories From Hogwarts of Heroism, Hardship and Dangerous Hobbies”
