Big News! Bill Nye The Science Guy Is Returning To TV

Bill Nye the Science Guy is returning to a TV near you—or more specifically, a computer/tablet/phone near you. He’ll reintroduce himself to his old audience and meet some new friends with his new Netflix series, “Bill Nye Saves The World,” in the spring of 2017.

Here’s his old show intro, which ran on PBS from 1993-1998. He created a hundred episodes in all and won 19 Emmy awards.

Nye’s geeky appearance, coupled with his sense of humor, helped him discuss real science topics in a way his audience could embrace. For example, here he is explaining the concept of evolution… with emojis.

In a statement on Elite Daily, Nye said,

Since the start of the Science Guy show, I’ve been on a mission to change the world by getting people everywhere excited about the fundamental ideas in science. Today, I’m excited to be working with Netflix on a new show, where we’ll discuss the complex scientific issues facing us today, with episodes on vaccinations, genetically modified foods and climate change. With the right science and good writing, we’ll do our best to enlighten and entertain our audience. And, perhaps we’ll change the world a little.

A collection of his earlier shows is now on Netflix if you want to check it out!
