Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus sing ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ on ‘Carpool Karaoke’ (video)

Miley Cyrus has come a long way since her “Hannah Montana” days. Now an accomplished pop star in her own right, Miley was not the first Cyrus to find fame in the entertainment business. Back in the 1990s, her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, was a chart-topping country artist, perhaps best known for his No. 1 hit single “Achy Breaky Heart.”

Recently, the famous family came full circle by singing the hit song together in an episode of “Carpool Karaoke.” Watch the hilarious teaser clip for the episode below:

Other members of the Cyrus clan, including mom, Tish, and Miley’s siblings Brandi, Trace, Braison and Noah, joined Billy Ray and Miley for the occasion. As you can see, they all donned mullet wigs to belt out the hit that first catapulted the family to fame.

When “Achy Breaks Heart” debuted in 1992, the breakout single inspired a line-dancing craze that swept the nation.

“That’s a real special feeling when I see people get up and do the Achy Breaky,” Cyrus told ET Online. “That’s what it’s all about: People getting together and having a good time and listening to good music.”

Carpool Karaoke” features celebrities sharing a car and cruising around town as they rock out and sing along to their favorite songs. It was born out of a popular segment on “The Late Late Show,” in which host James Corden would drive around celebrities while interviewing them and listening to their personal playlists. Corden says that the popularity of the segment, and thus the series, is because of the viral power of the internet.

“Outside of like YouTube, when we launched two years ago, we were on in like eight countries,” Corden explained during an appearance on “The Bill Simmons Podcast.” “And I think we’re now on in 152 and that growth is really only down to the show’s relevance on the internet which makes other territories say, ‘We want to buy that show.'”
