Bindi Irwin and her husband revealed the sex of their baby in a sweet announcement

Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, are expecting their first child together. After announcing the news last month, the daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin took to social media to announce that the baby is a girl.

“Baby girl, you are our world,” she wrote along with a photo of her, Powell, a giant tortoise and a sonogram photo. “Our beautiful daughter is now about the size of a hatching Aldabra tortoise and is as healthy as can be. We can’t wait for her arrival next year”:

Aww! The “Crikey! It’s the Irwins” star met Powell at the Australia Zoo in 2013 and they began dating in 2015. The young couple wed in March 2020.

Powell shared his wife’s tweet and added, “Our little girl and my amazing wife are my entire world. I’m so excited to meet our daughter when she’s born next year and to see the incredible person she will grow up to be.”

In a previous post, Irwin wrote about how excited she is to become a mom.

“Discovering that I was going to become a mother will forever be a moment where time stood still,” she wrote in the September 1 post. “It is such a blessing knowing that this tiny person has chosen us as parents. Our baby Wildlife Warrior is going to be so very loved by our families and entire Australia Zoo team. I can’t wait to find out what this amazing new soul loves in life, and experience the world all over again through their eyes.”

Messages of congratulations from friends and family have been pouring in on social media.

Bindi’s brother, Robert Irwin, retweeted her post and wrote, “I can’t wait to meet my niece. Beyond excited for all the adventures ahead with your beautiful new baby girl! I’m so happy for your both!”
