Bindi Irwin and her husband, Chandler Powell, are new parents!
Their baby girl, named Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, was born on March 25, which also happened to be the happy couple’s first wedding anniversary. The pair had their wedding ceremony at the Australia Zoo on March 25, 2020, but had no guests at their wedding due to the looming COVID-19 pandemic.
The 22-year-old daughter of the late Steve Irwin, star of “The Crocodile Hunter,” shared the joyous announcement of the arrival of her daughter on social media with a sweet photo of the new family and a loving message to the newest member of the Irwin family that explained the baby girl’s name.

“Grace Warrior Irwin Powell. Our graceful warrior is the most beautiful light,” she wrote on social media. “Grace is named after my great-grandmother, and relatives in Chandler’s family dating back to the 1700s. Her middle names, Warrior Irwin, are a tribute to my dad and his legacy as the most incredible Wildlife Warrior. Her last name is Powell and she already has such a kind soul just like her dad.”
She also posted a photo of an adorable infant onesie with a baby koala and Grace’s official birth announcement. She was born at 5:52 p.m. local time, weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces, and measured 20 inches long.
Bindi’s mother, new grandmother Terri Irwin, couldn’t contain her joy at the news of her granddaughter’s arrival.
“Love is not a big enough word,” Terri posted on Twitter. “My heart is so incredibly happy. And I know that Steve would be beyond proud. Grace is the next generation to continue his mission and message of conservation. She chose her parents wisely. Bindi and Chandler are already the best parents ever!”
Irwin and Powell have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their daughter for months. Back in September 2020, the couple announced they would be having a daughter.
