It’s pretty common these days to wish your partner a happy birthday over social media — even if you’re a celebrity. So, to celebrate her hubby Ryan Reynolds’ birthday, actress Blake Lively just posted a hilarious birthday message on Instagram.

The gorgeous couple — who are parents to two daughters — are known for jokingly trolling each other online. This year, Lively made sure that her birthday message to Reynolds was delightfully savage.

Check it out:

Happy Birthday, baby.

LOL! Yes, that is a picture of Ryan Gosling with just a tinyyyyyyyy snippet of birthday boy Ryan Reynolds off to the side.

Of course, this is not the first time that the pair shared joking birthday wishes on Instagram. In fact, Reynolds started it in August on Lively’s 30th birthday when he posted this photo online:

Happy Birthday to my amazing wife.

Haha! As you can tell this couple really enjoys teasing each other … which is a good thing, because studies show that couples who laugh together, stay together! No wonder these two give so many people #CouplesGoals.

The pair has a funny backstory, too. They were both dating other people when they first met on the set of “The Green Lantern” — Lively was with her “Gossip Girl” co-star Penn Badgley, and Reynolds was married to Scarlett Johansson. Then when they were finally both single and ended up on a double-date together, they were set up with the other person across the table — not each other.

“She was on a date with another guy, and I was on a date with another girl,” Reynolds recalled on Entertainment Weekly’s Sirius XM show. “That was the most awkward date [from their perspective] probably because we were just like fireworks coming across.”

That’s for sure, because we can feel the fireworks and passion even when the couple are lightly teasing other on Instagram. Here’s to the happy couple … and here’s to looking forward to their next prank!
